I was asked to define what “architecture” meant to me during my first academic lecture in architecture school. This is a question I continued to revisit & explore to this day.

Today I understand architecture to be a practice with no formula. Architecture is not a static discipline, its a practice that distills relevance within society. It invites creative resolution and design process into a perpetually evolving built environment. It is not to be limited by form nor program but as a function of the people impacted by it. Architecture has many faces and asks those who choose to design, to try on it’s many hats.
